Requirements

To rent a vehicle from ACT Car Rentals please take note of the following requirements:

Driver's licence Drivers must hold a current open Australian, Overseas or International driver's licence. If more than one driver will be operating the vehicle then that driver's licence will also have to be sighted
Age Drivers of vehicles must be 21 years old or older.
Payment At the time of car rental, please have your current driver's licence and credit card with you. We accept Visa and MasterCard credit or debit card.
Security bond Before you drive away, you need to have the cost of the rental plus a $500 security bond available on your credit card. The security bond is an amount 'reserved' on your credit card as security for the vehicle ACT Car Rentals is providing.
Road tolls It is your responsibility to pay for all tolls that you use when in a vehicle rented from us. Some roads do not operate cash booths and you must call and pay for the toll on your credit card. Road signs on the motorway will show the phone number and website details of the toll road operator. Contact the toll road operator within 48 hours of your trip.   If we receive a toll notice in our office then regrettably we have to charge you a $20 administration fee.
Fuel All car renters are responsible for their own fuel costs. Vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank of fuel. Should the vehicle be returned short of fuel it will be re-fuelled at the customer's expense with a re-fuelling fee of $3 per litre.
